Why do I need a reservoir tank?
The secret to cooling is 2 things; Fluid volume and fluid flow rate.
Imagine this. Your intercooler fluid passes through the intercooler slowly and absorbs the hot boosted air, then the surface temp of the intercooler increases and so do the intake temps.
Now let’s smash the fluid through as fast as possible, as that fluid isn’t exposed to the heat for as long the surface temp of the intercooler stays colder and so do the intake temps.
Without a reservoir tank your entire fluid volume is doing 1 full lap of the system every 2sec, meaning every 2sec your entire fluid volume is multiplying in temperature. With the tank fitted you have well over a minute worth of fluid volume. This then results in a stable “constant” fluid temp for the entire time you are under wide open throttle which keeps your intake temps way down.
It also provides instant recovery after you get off the throttle as the unused still freezing cold fluid rushes through and knocks your temps straight back down. Allowing you to do back to back to back hits.
Combined with our CWA400 intercooler pump you are able to achieve both incredible fluid flow and fluid volume to match the flow.
Install:
The tank utilizes mounting points that align with all factory holes, no drilling is required.
The tank comes configured to work with your factory blower coolant hard lines.
Simply remove your factory pump and brackets and put the tank in place and wire up the pump.
Foam Insulation
We will insulate the tank for you, the foam will stop condensation forming, and also reduce the energy loss of the cold fluid to the ambient environment.
This helps you stay colder and keeps your car racetrack safe.
